Whilst other schemes across the city come to a standstill, leading property development company, Henry Boot Developments Limited, is continuing with its plans to transform the former County Court Buildings on Manchester’s Deansgate.
The Grade II listed building, originally constructed in 1896 and acquired by Henry Boot Developments earlier this year, is set to be refurbished to create a mixed-use scheme incorporating two floors of Grade A office space and two floors of high-end leisure and retail units.
Adam Brady of Henry Boot Developments, Manchester, said: “This landmark scheme is still in the development stages but we are hugely excited about its potential. Situated in a prominent position on Deansgate, at the gateway to Spinningfields, we hope to attract occupiers looking to take advantage of all the benefits of the city’s newest business district, whilst enjoying the surroundings of a refurbished listed property.
“The leisure and retail units will further enhance our offering by providing carefully selected restaurants, bars or fashion retailers a unique opportunity to secure premises in a sought after, quality location. No marketing for the scheme has been undertaken so far but we are already in advanced negotiations with a leading restaurateur interested in taking the lower ground floor space and we look forward to making an announcement on this shortly.
“Whilst many developments in Manchester are struggling to progress in the face of the global credit crunch, we remain strong in the market place and committed to delivering this project.”
Appointed office agents on the scheme are DTZ and Matthews & Goodman, whilst Shelly Sandzer and Cheetham & Mortimer have been instructed to let the leisure and retail units.
