Wednesday 12th March 2008: PLANNING APPLICATION SUBMITTED FOR 186,000 SQ FT MIXED-USE SCHEME IN MALTON, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Henry Boot Developments Limited is seeking planning consent for the development of a 186,000 sq ft mixed-use scheme on a 6.8 hectare site at Malton, North Yorkshire.
It is proposed that the scheme will include 104,000 sq ft of industrial, warehouse and workshop premises, 42,000 sq ft of offices and 40,000 sq ft of bulky goods retail, complete with car parking.
The development will be designed to complement the existing town facilities and to encourage the local public to shop in the town rather than travel to nearby centres such as York and Scarborough. It will be sensitively designed in keeping with the rural setting of this pleasant market town, with the incorporation of significant quality landscaping.
