Monday 26th November 2007: NEW RETAIL AND INDUSTRIAL SCHEME MOVES CLOSER AT PARKGATE, ROTHERHAM
Henry Boot Developments Limited has completed the purchase of 16 acres of land at Parkgate in Rotherham for a new mixed-use development to be named Northfields Retail & Business Park. The canalside site has planning consent for 100,000 sq ft of retail accommodation and some 90,000 sq ft of industrial space.
Adjacent to the established Retail World shopping centre at Parkgate, Northfields will be the first major retail scheme to be undertaken in Rotherham for over 10 years. It will introduce significant regeneration benefits into the area and create hundreds of new job opportunities.
Discussions are already taking place with several interested national retailers and it is hoped that construction work will commence on site in spring/summer 2008.
