Tuesday 20th November 2007:
DAVENTRY DISTRICT COUNCIL SIGNS £75 MILLION DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH HENRY BOOT DEVELOPMENTS
Following Daventry District Councils selection of Henry Boot Developments Limited as its preferred development partner, negotiations have been concluded and a Development Agreement has been signed by both parties.  Henry Boot will now enter into detailed negotiations with West Northamptonshire Development Corporation prior to the submission of a planning application.

The Agreement relates to the phased development of two prominent sites in Daventry town centre.  Phase one will provide some 75,000 sq ft of traditional high street retailing as well as a new library.  Phase two will provide 90,000 sq ft of mostly large format retailing, 65,000 sq ft of office accommodation, plus hotel, bars, restaurants, a gym and residential accommodation.

This quality scheme is in keeping with Daventry DCs progressive vision for the town, and will act as a catalyst for its continuing future development.  Drivers Jonas were advisers to the Council.

Alan Jones, Development Surveyor at Henry Boot Developments, states:  "This is an important regeneration project at the heart of the substantial growth being enjoyed by Daventry.  It will contribute greatly towards providing a revitalised and diverse town centre and significantly benefit the local and surrounding communities."

Peter Ratcliffe, Director of Savills, the leasing and investment advisers, comments:  "We are delighted to be involved with such a prestigious retail-led regeneration project which will create a host of modern retail properties to satisfy the demand identified within the town for retail and leisure development."

Success in winning this major scheme represents further expansion of Henry Boot Developments activities in the East Midlands, and complements current projects in Nottingham city centre, Beeston, Worksop and the £100m Markham Vale Business Park on the M1 motorway.
